The Working Groups (WG) of the WEEE Forum are established for members and cover common themes across members. These form a fairly permanent structure and develop operational tools. WG CO2, for example, seeks to harmonise the methodologies to identify the CO2 savings associated with recycling and proper treatment; WG Scope developed a tool to assess the scope of legislation and several issues papers; WG Collection set up a platform to compile examples of best collection practices and campaigns; and WG Communication allows members to share and build experience in communicating messages to stakeholders and manages the renowned International E-Waste Day.
The thematic Task Forces in the WEEE Forum co-ordinate on issues of current concern such as management and collection of WEEE, treatment and collection standards, scope of legislation, tackling illegal waste management practices etc.
Members of the WEEE Forum are invited to join the Working groups based on their needs and resources available. In general, active working groups meet 3 to 4 times a year online. All WGs are coordinated and lead by WEEE Forum staff. Members are to join discussions, contribute with data and guidance.
Working Groups and Task Forces are open to our members only.
